This wine is from the Colinele Dobrogei region in South Eastern Rumania and is located between the river Danube and the Black Sea. It is called the Dobrogei plateau and here the vineyards are blessed with a micro-climate ideal for viticulture.
Murdei comes from the Romanian word for blackberry (Mur) and de comes from the word for god. Our heavenly berry is a purely divine Cuvee of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The Cabernet Sauvignon gives the wine density and structure, the Merlot fruitiness and warm, soft tannins. This deep red Romanian impresses with its complex aromas of juicy cherry, delicate spice and hints of fragrant hay which caress the senses. The palate reveals an exquisite blackberry sweetness which is both velvety and harmonious. A unique, easy drinking wine which is a more than admirable replacement to our well-loved Murfatlar.
